The Company
Cortical.io is an Austrian start-up working on algorithms for examining large natural language databases. In the meantime, the company has expanded to the USA and sells its solutions there.
The task
The aim of the project was to improve and support the day-to-day operations of the company. Top IT support should be provided for this, including a service level agreement. In addition, the following services should be provided on the Cortical.io IT infrastructure:
- Email service based on Exchange Server
- File management service based on Nextcloud
- Other IT requirements, such as future security, should also be taken into account.
The solution
The solution provided by our IT infrastructure specialists was optimized technically and economically to meet the customer's requirements. A flexible IT offer was created in advance with several scenarios from which the company could choose.

- An e-mail service (Exchange Server) and file management based on Nextcloud were provided
- An SLA for the necessary hardware, automated monitoring, updates, backup servers (VEEAM backup and recovery), server housing, license purchase and management, antivirus and antispam from ESET are also part of the services
- In addition, a firewall service was set up as a virtual machine based on BSD, Active Directory based on Microsoft Windows Server and an infrastructure service based on VMware vSphere.
- Our technicians guarantee stability and security updates for 5 years and the future security of the facility, ie the possibility of growing the number of users and expandable memory
