The Company
The Donau-Auen National Park GmbH is a non-profit company that manages the Donau-Auen National Park. The company's tasks include the three areas of organization, visitors & communication, nature & science.
The task
The customer had an existing mail server structure. Problems with this email server solution should be fixed. These included the following aspects:
- Instability of the mail server / email server service: failures and problems with the OVH hosted Exchange solution often occurred;
- Poor mail server service: lack of transparency, no access to log files & long waits for support requests
- Backup / disaster recovery integration: the environment was running in France and it was difficult to incorporate the complex backup extraction into the disaster recovery concept
- The email server anti-spam was not adjustable and partly insufficient
The solution
Our IT technicians developed a cost-effective, state-of-the-art mail server solution. Donauauen received a strong service package - from IT consulting to implementation. Sending e-mails using the in-house Exchange Server is now faster, more stable and more secure. The new mail server solution included the following activities:
- IT consulting, migration & implementation of the mail server
- Integration into the existing IT infrastructure as an additional virtual machine on Hyper-V virtualization host
- Exchange Server Backup / Recovery Integration via existing VEEAM solution
- Connection of the mail server to an Iphos anti-spam solution from the cloud.
The results
As a result, Donauauen can now access a stable, fast and secure mail server and send and receive emails worry-free.
The setup of the Exchange Server allows more transparency (log file access), clean, consistent disaster recovery & top anti-spam. A state-of-the-art comprehensive service in the field of mail servers.
