The Company
The "Samsung SDI Battery System" plant in Premstätten, Austria is a headquarters of SDI Battery Systems with all central functions for the production of battery systems, development, testing & validation, as well as the production of prototypes with more than 500 employees.
The task
Samsung SDI Battery System internally operates a Windows-based file server, which is protected with proprietary encryption software developed in-house. Due to the size of the field server with around 5 million documents and the very broad file system hierarchy, it is no longer possible to find documents quickly. In addition, the e-mails of the employees are stored on network drives in the form of more than 1.400 PST files, which is why these are not searchable to date.
The introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation has made it necessary to search the data sources mentioned in order to be able to provide any data protection information quickly and efficiently.
The solution
Iphos IT Solutions was able to use the search engine software searchit solve the addressed problems of the task professionally:
- searchit – Central search incl. filter across all connected data sources
- Structure of a searchit-Clusters with 6 nodes
- Daily indexing of more than 5 million encrypted file server documents
- Daily indexing of more than 1.400 PST files
- Implementation of a GDPR module to carry out data protection reports and logging of hits
