The Company
Traktionssysteme Austria is an Austrian company that has been producing asynchronous and permanent magnet drives as an independent full-service provider for more than 55 years. The traction drives produced in the TSA plant in Neudorf in Vienna are used successfully all over the world.
The task
Traktionssysteme Austria GmbH planned the development and implementation of a company-wide search engine.
The expansion should take place in several stages and include both the design and the development of the basic functions. Automatic text recognition was also part of the list of requirements, as was indexing of SharePoint, Exchange and the external company websites. Synonyms should also be included in the search.
The solution
The state-of-the-art search engine was developed in several stages. The following services were rendered for the creation of the prototype:

- Indexing of the NTFS-based file server with around 5 million documents

The results
The TSA received a search engine specially tailored to their needs, which can search through all company-relevant data sources, from file servers to Sharepoint, Exchange and external websites, and displays the results in a meaningful weighting with optimal visual processing.
Numerous filter options - from the author, to the file size or type, to the storage location and date, make it easier to find the data you are looking for.
The independence from external servers and providers of search solutions is also important with regard to data security and the EU-GDPR.
